In the Westland Flower Parade growers from this area in South Holland put their finest fruit and flowers on display on a three day floating parade with boats full of colourful decorations. On Saturday 5 August the floating fruit and flower festival passes The Hague and near surroundings. The route is ideal for a short bike ride.
I am a big fan of the Westland, the area close to The Hague and Delft. Did you know that this area full of greenhouses once started with the production of grapes? This is one of the reasons why I want to take you to the grape nursery (another reason is that this is the season for grapes). And, if you don’t mind, I tell you some anecdotes and facts about the area and about the Westland Flower Parade. A picknick is just a nice way to enjoy each others company, make new friends and see the decorated boats.
